Theme Introduction

Conference Theme

The 2026 ICWVCD International Visual Communication Design Symposium adopts “Spectrum in Essence” as its annual theme, responding to the era of generative AI by re-examining the essence and value of design. “Essence” symbolizes the pure foundation and intellectual roots of creation, representing the bedrock from which all forms and expressions emerge. “Spectrum” serves as a metaphor for the rich layers and expansive possibilities of creativity as it refracts through multiple media and technologies. When designers reconnect with the primal essence and intrinsic intent of creation, technology ceases to be merely a tool and instead becomes a medium for refracting creative energy. This allows design to emerge from its core essence, gradually unfolding into a richly diverse, infinite spectrum.
