The 2026 ICWVCD International Conference on Visual Communication Design presents "Spectrum in Essence" as the annual theme. We assert that in an era saturated with AI, designers should place greater emphasis on the power of the Origin. We no longer fear being replaced, for we are the source of creativity (light), and AI is merely the path it follows. By holding firmly to the essence of design, we can derive diverse design possibilities from core concepts, harness technology, and construct a brilliant spectrum that originates from the primal source while surpassing imagination. The 2026 ICWVCD International Conference and Workshop on Visual Communication Design is scheduled to be held on October 23. The event will invite experts and scholars from both academia and practice, domestically and internationally, to explore key issues and practices of visual design in the era of generative AI. This year's conference aims to demonstrate how designers, within a generative technological environment, can use core essence as the foundation of creation, deriving visual expressions and innovative perspectives that are both deep and diverse, highlighting active mastery over design from human mind. We look forward to, and invite submissions that address the following eight design topics, including but not limited to these subthemes:
⇀Visual Communication Design
⇀Social Design
⇀Design Culture
⇀Service Design
⇀Design Education
⇀Experience Design
⇀Digital Design
⇀Emotional Design
